Pambazuka is Swahili for Arise.
This a two hour gospel show that airs on weekdays between 4.00am and 6.00am.

Set at this prime time of the day, the show is the energizer for the Radio Citizen listener, setting them up for the day ahead. It starts with a worship song, followed by reading of the word from the Bible, then a prayer from the host followed by a prayer from a listener, setting the mood right for 2 hours of praise and worship.

Conversation on the show is inspirational mainly guided by Bible verses and listeners salaams with an interlude of hit gospel music. This is probably the most interactive show on Radio Citizen as it’s heavy on calls and reading of good morning text messages.
